Birthstone Collection

The history of this practice dates back to ancient Israel and the Breastplate of Aaron as described in the book of Exodus. His breastplate,  decorated with twelve gemstones represented the twelve tribes of Israel. Eventually, scholars in the 5th century made the connection between the twelve gems, twelve months of the year, and twelve signs of the Zodiac. The theory was that each gem was connected to a certain month or astrological alignment and that they would receive therapeutic benefits for wearing one during that time. While stones were rotated in and out for years, the final list was updated in 1952 by the Jewelry Industry Council of America. We are pleased to offer our birthstone collection in floral form…
